The Appointee Will Lead Some of the UKGC’s Operational Functions

On March 16, the UKGC stated that Sue Young will join its leadership team as the new executive director of operations. The UK gaming regulator celebrated the appointment, emphasizing Young’s extensive leadership background.

Per the UKGC, Young previously worked at HMRC as director of debt management. She also has substantial public sector experience, having held senior positions at organizations like the Home Office—including Border Force and HM Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services—and the Department of Health and Social Care.

In her new position, Young will oversee some of the UKGC’s operational functions. Her appointment comes during ongoing reforms in the British gaming industry and underscores the UKGC’s steadfast commitment to “keep gambling safer, fairer, and crime-free.”
