(AsiaGameHub) – SBC Summit Malta 2026 is enhancing its conference agenda by adding a dedicated workshop room that will concentrate on workplace culture, professional development, and public communication.
With increasing public expectations for the gaming sector, the importance of company culture and leadership standards has never been higher. The way organizations support their employees and perform under pressure has a direct impact on their public perception and trustworthiness.
The educational schedule for this year is spread across three stages. The first day will feature panel discussions, while the second day will offer hands-on workshops in addition to two other workshop rooms. The highlighted workshop room will host sessions on ‘Purpose, Policy & PR’ on Wednesday, April 29, and ‘Future Ready Leadership: Tech, Talent & Transformation’ on Thursday, April 30.
The decision to prioritize workshops was intentional. Subjects such as culture, policy, and talent development are better suited to an interactive, in-depth format that promotes direct engagement with experts and tackling practical issues.
“Companies frequently become so focused on pursuing profits and daily operations that they neglect the internal foundations necessary for external growth,” stated Rasmus Sojmark, Founder and CEO of SBC. “Building a solid base by supporting your team, communicating effectively, and leading well is what ultimately leads to natural profitability.”
The Purpose, Policy and PR track examines how gaming firms are reinforcing their culture and communications amidst growing scrutiny. It will include sessions on aiding staff through workplace difficulties, tackling addiction and recovery, integrating AI responsibly, embedding ESG principles into daily routines, and managing public messaging effectively.
Workshops include:
- Crisis Comms Masterclass: Who Got It Right?
- ESG Beyond the Tick Box: Turning Purpose into Profit
- AI in HR: Empowering Teams, Not Replacing Them
- The Hidden HR Challenge: Addiction, Recovery and Support in Gaming
- Media & Messaging: From Sales to Storytelling in a Restricted Age
Future Ready Leadership: Tech, Talent and Transformation turns attention to how the sector can prepare its workforce for the future. Discussions will focus on new skill demands, the traits of durable leadership, and the career development routes companies are creating to attract, keep, and nurture talent.
Workshops include:
- Breaking Barriers, Building Futures
- Resilience in Leadership
- Future-Proofing Your Career: The Skills, Roles and Opportunities Shaping the Next Workforce
Industry specialists participating in the workshops are Reija Airas (EVP, People, Culture and Communications, Veikkaus), Roberta Buhagiar (Learning and Development Specialist, Gentoo Media), Caroline Butler (Head of Global Markets, Initiate International), Emma-Elizabeth Byrne (Head of Publishing, Gentoo Media), Alina Famenok (Growth & Partnerships Expert, Former CEO Already Media), Christopher Grech Bonett (Founder, R77 Elitetalent), Brian Christopher (CEO and Creator, BC Ventures), Liesbeth Oost (Head of ESG, JOI Gaming), Julia Weygandt (Board of Directors, Global Gaming Women), and JP Xuereb (HR Director, HIT Gaming).
SBC Summit Malta 2026 is scheduled for April 28–30 at the InterContinental Malta and will gather 6,000 gaming professionals. In addition to the conference, participants can engage in wide-ranging networking activities on the exhibition floor and at exclusive off-site events.
