(AsiaGameHub) – Playtech has officially entered the Connecticut online gambling market following the issuance of an operating license by the state’s Department of Consumer Protection. This marks the company’s sixth regulated launch in the United States to date.
The latest US launch allows Playtech to reinforce its partnerships with licensed operators across multiple states. Building on its recent debut in Delaware, the company is now delivering its casino games collection to Connecticut players, featuring a range of exclusive and custom-developed iGaming content.
Jonathan Doubilet, general manager of Playtech USA, commented:
We are excited to broaden our footprint to a sixth US state. Connecticut represents a mature iGaming market with a substantial player base that we expect will respond enthusiastically to our premium offerings. We take great pride in the continued confidence our key partners place in us to meet the stringent requirements of the US iGaming market.
Furthermore, this strategic move aligns well with current market conditions, as Connecticut’s iGaming sector continues to expand and diversify. In January, total wagers reached $1.77 billion, representing a 10 percent year-over-year increase, while monthly gross gaming revenue from iGaming climbed 19 percent to $64.6 million.
Based on these figures, Playtech’s debut in Connecticut appears to be a calculated strategic decision rather than a risk, designed to advance its broader US expansion objectives.
